The closing stages of the transfer window left me so mad that I took a break. Yes! Believe it or not. I stayed away from all the madness for a while. I thought sanity would return once the window closed. Alas!
Apparently, someone doesn’t want me to be sane.
It has been 3 days since the English transfer window officially shut up shop. However, the rumor mill is still functioning. Why, you ask? It is because, the French, Turkish and Russian windows are still open. As a result, players from EPL or any other clubs, whose transfer window is currently shut, can still sell players.
I was content with our summer transfers. Content, is the key word. Not ecstatic or overjoyed. I personally wanted to see a Sahin or Javi Martinez type of player being bought in. Also a back up, 3rd choice striker, could have been good. Schurrle would have been the preferred choice. However, none of those happened.
Essien’s loan move to Real Madrid was the least desired dealing of ours in this window, I thought. But, no. We are going to better that. Now Meireles is leaving as well. Woohooo…. [That Wooohoooo was sarcasm, by the way]
I’am not disappointed in Meireles’ departure because he is an exceptional player. Meireles is a versatile Midfielder who could be slotted in any of the midfield positions and give you a 7 out of 10 performance. If he tries really hard then we could get a Newcastle type of performance from him. He was DEPTH.
Since I’m incapable of influencing the boards transfer policy, all that I can do is, to rant about it. Ah, well…
Here is the Meireles story/rumors so far:

Raul Meireles close to leaving Chelsea for Fenerbahce ~ BBC

These reports suggest it is not just a wild rumor and a deal is very likely to happen. I guess it is time to say Sayonara to Meireles. Anyways, lets wait till Chelsea officially confirm his departure, before going completely nuts.
Our Center Midfield depth chart will look like this, after Meireles’ departure:
Mikel, Romeu – CDM
Lampard, Ramires – LM, RM
Oscar – who could play as a LM
Hazard, Mata, Moses, Marin – AM – none of them who can defend or tackle
a makeshift Bertrand in LW
and of course FloMo who is still with Chelsea.
Not bad, eh?

Thas good for raul
All I can say is I am sorry for us cos we are bent on being the English version of that Spanish team that felt all they need to do is outscore their opponent, well we all know how that ended.
David luiz might be able to fit in when required. He has the energy. But I am concerned as well. I liked him!
