The news “De Bruyne: I want to leave Chelsea ~ Goal.com” has been floating around the internet. Expectantly, a few angry fans. Some want to straighten things out with KDB. For everyone’s clarification, I don’t think KDB actually meant he wants to LEAVE Chelsea.
Original quotes were sourced from the German news source Bild and the translation came out as “I want to leave Chelsea.” The German word for leave is “verlassen”, a verb. Another possible meaning for “verlassen” is MOVE AWAY.
In his previous interviews, KDB, had said something along the lines, “I am open to a loan move as I want to play regular football.” No where did he say he wants to leave Chelsea. Either the media is lazy or they are doing their usual tricks and twisting the quotes.
To summarize, all that KDB would have said is, he has to MOVE AWAY from Chelsea to get first team football. Moreover, earlier reports suggested, there is no option to buy KDB at the end of his one year loan spell. He is in Chelsea’s future plans, for the time being.
